How To Make Onion Rings:
Homemade onion rings are delicious.
For this recipe, I also show you a very special onion ring with a surprise filling you wouldn’t expect.
They are tasty with chips and salad or perfect just as a snack on their own. A popular accompaniment to onion rings is steak and chips. Although they do go well with just about anything.
I love this recipe and I am glad to be sharing it with you.
Once you taste these homemade onion rings, you won’t want to have any other ones ever again. They just wouldn’t compare.
A wow factor at a bar-b-q is these amazing onion rings with the surprise filling of some cheese sealed with a wonderful crispy coating. Cheese an onion are the match made in heaven.
I hope you do try them and enjoy how yummy they are. They are fun to make and the flavour is mouth watering.

Summary of the Steps Involved
Ingredients
1 Large onion
2 Eggs
40g Flour (any type)
70g Breadcrumbs
Cheddar cheese (optional)
Spinach leaves (optional)
Mix 2 eggs into a bowl
In another bowl put 40g flour (any type)
In another bowl put 70g breadcrumbs
Peel a large onion and cut one end off (the opposite side to the root end) then cut big thick circles about ½ inch thick leaving the root end until last
Separate onion rings. For plain onion rings follow the instructions below with one onion ring at a time.
For a surprise filling with cheese in it, find 3 onion rings that are together and take the middle one out. Cut thin sliced bits of cheese about ½ inch high and place them between those 2 onion rings then continue following the instructions below. For an added surprise wrap some spinach leaves around the cheese slices then place between the 2 onion rings
Dip each onion ring into the egg, then the flour, then the egg again, then the breadcrumbs, then dip into the egg again then dip back into the breadcrumbs
Leave in the fridge for half an hour
Put some cooking oil into a pot about 2 – 3 inch high making sure not to over fill the pot. Not more than ¼ full
Heat the oil until it is hot enough that when you put onion rings into the oil they should bubble straight away
After 2 minutes of cooking on one side turn the onion rings over and cook for a further 2 minutes
Once they are cooked, place on some kitchen paper to drain excess oil
Serve and enjoy
